About Us

A community dedicated to reaching out to the students in Cal Poly with the message of Jesus Christ

Our Mission

The mission of CCF is to be a community where people can encounter God and become followers of Jesus Christ. While we celebrate Chinese culture, our aim is to know Christ and to make Him known.

Our Vision

Empowered by the Spirit, we encourage one another to step out in faith to be a light in the community God has placed us in.

This Year’s Theme Verse

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

Our History

In 1982, Cal Poly grad Sammy Chu was being discipled by Bob Ban Zante, a past Navigators advisor. As the two spent time together, Bob noticed that Sammy was a gifted leader and passionate evangelist. Sammy saw many people come to Christ and attracted fellow Chinese students to his Bible studies. As his group grew, the pair decided that a unique fellowship for Chinese students would be a good idea. They brought this idea to God in prayer and founded CCF at Cal Poly.
